Where is Am Fuaran Bar?

Altandhu, is approximately 25 miles northwest of Ullapool along the Coigach Peninsula. The peninsula is named, ‘Coigach’, which roughly translates as the ‘place of fifths’ in Scottish Gaelic. This refers to the peninsula’s division into five main areas of farmland; defining grazing limits and allocating peat-cutting areas for the different townships.

Am Fuaran Bar sits on the gently sloping hillside of Altandhu, slightly above Port a Bhaigh Campsite. Our westerly-facing outdoor seating area allows guests unbeatable views over the Summer Isle of Ristol. On clear evenings, enjoy dinner and drinks with a spectacular sunset. Alternatively, you’ll find plenty of seating indoors where you can soak up the cosy bar atmosphere.
